NEW CAR!

Bought a 2012 Nissan Sentra! I LOVE IT. Not only is it awesome, but I am paying WAY less a month than with the Scion. Was sad to see the Scion go, but I'm happier being in a new car with no problems to worry about. Check it out...

"I Feel Like A King"

Going by what Kelly kept repeating all night, I think the 1st date night was a hit. But how could it not be? It was Kelly getting to try different beers while I served him yummy finger foods. We had bread and cheeses, chips and salsa, and hot wings. I bought 4 different beers and he had to guess what they were. He only got the Stella right. But the others were random beers he doesn't drink often.

I also started the scrap book for these date nights. I found a little collection of cool, recycled, card stock at Michael's for $10. I can't wait for next month's date....

12 Dates of Christmas

Along with many other cool things, one of Kelly's gift for Christmas was a Pinterest inspired gift. 12 Dates of Christmas! A different date night for every month of the year. With our relationship getting close to the two year mark, I figured it was a great way to avoid the slump of routine. Honestly, this was probably something more for myself, but Kelly loved it.

Some of the ideas are very Kelly specific, like January is a private beer tasting night. Then there are others like going to a local art opening. I tried to have a combination of things that we love doing, he loves doing, or something we have not done before. We agreed to both be open-minded (especially on art night)!

I've also decided to start a small, simple scrapbook. One page for each date. What an awesome thing for our future kids to be able to look through and see how cool their parents were.

Date #1 is next week sometime. I will let you know how it goes.

It was super simple! 12 envelopes, one for each month, contains a letter explaining the date for that month and different items that will be used for the date. We will open each one on the first of that month and pick a day to do it.I did get cheesy and try to use the "12 Days of Christmas" lyrics on each date page. You know, like... "On the 1st date of 2012 your girlfriend gave to you...." I also tried to use all the different nicknames Kelly has for me on these pages. (he has an unusual amount for me) But I must say, watching him read them all and crack up was awesome. Supplies were from the dollar store (another thing I am obsessed with) and bought envelopes (6 for $1), some crayons (24 pack $1) and a cute white heart basket (you guessed it, $1).

I'm excited for this.

Here are the date ideas I came up with.
1.       Beer Tasting Night
2.       FSU Baseball Game
3.       Irish Dinner
4.      Golf Driving Range
5.       Art Opening
6.       Pancake Breakfast
7.       Private Movie Screening
8.       Dinner at a New Restaurant
9.       Jazz/Blues Night
10.   IMAX
11.   Concert
12.   Evening of Christmas (Decorating home for Xmas)

You know you want to do it now.

Flip's Rough Day

You all know Flip....

100_0399

Well, he will be turning 5 years old this May, and he is sort of becoming an old man. He limps really bad sometimes and I wanted to try and help him out. He looks really painful when he does this. So it was time for his yearly exam and some vaccines so I brought him to work with me. His doctor did his exam and gave him his shots. But then I told her about his limping and that I want to get to the bottom of it.

So poor Flippy had to be sedated, majorly! Basically, they used reversible anesthesia. It took awhile for it to take effect, but when it did, he was sleeping like a baby.

**sleeping in his dog run at my work, the vet clinic**
So as you can imagine, it was easy for the technicians to get 11 different views of x-rays on his front shoulders, elbows, and neck.

**still passed out on the x-ray table**
Well, can you imagine how frustrating it was to spend all that money on all those x-rays and the doctor to tell me they all look normal? Well, it is good news, but there is obviously something going on with his front legs. If you have seen him limping in the mornings, then you know what I am talking about!
A radiology specialist comes to my work once a month and our doctors ask him questions about cases like Flip's. So he will be checking out his x-rays next week. Poor Flip! All that for no answers.
Once he got home, he was still pretty loopy for the rest of the day.

Take Advantage!

It's not always a bad thing. This morning, my Chem 101 professor announced that there is a tutor available for free after class. Since I have a 2 hour break after that class, I went over there. I just did my homework, and if I got stuck, Jessica would put me back in the right direction. In all the years I have been in college I have never gone to a tutor. What a shame. She is going to make that class much easier. Ok I need to pay attention, my History professor is beginning class.

Sick

I guess it is that time of the year. I have been pretty sick since Monday, and now Dexter is sick. I was up all night with him cleaning up vomit... ewww. And then when he finally was feeling better and we were both falling asleep, Flip and the coyotes were having a howling contest. Uhh! It was bad. But one cool thing that happened last night when I was cleaning up half digested dog food was I could hear the concert that was happening at UCSB. It was not just any concert either... it was Jack Johnson!!! I could hear it pretty clear and was singing along with him. So cool. Ok, I'm at work so I should go... im taking mom and pops to the airport tonight! party on saturday

Just Like Lissa

I have been using the cool editing thing on Flickr and making some cool pictures like Lissa. Here are some of the things I have done. I have been printing them out on my pops cool printer and now I need to get frames to put them up in my room.

This picture Lissa took while we were in Bass Lake. I edited it.
